Calling all non-professional musicians! Practice your music in surprising places and spaces throughout the Music Center.Hit a high note this Spring and let PUBLIC PRACTICE take your music practice routine up a notch. Try a new tune, gain confidence on an unfamiliar instrument and make music outdoors. Discover the Los Angeles street soundscape while practicing (not performing) your music at one-of-a-kind locations on the Music Center campus.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Public Practice is open to adult (18 years and over) non-professional INSTRUMENTAL musicians/music hobbyists of all skill levels and cultural musical traditions. Acoustic instruments only. Choose to participate as a solo musician or as a duo.

Through a peer review process, musicians are selected based on stated interest, understanding of Public Practice goals and commitment to recreational musicmaking. There is no audition.
From the novice dancer, to the casual singer, to the recreational musician, Active Arts® at the Music Center invites you to come sing, dance, make music and tell stories in Downtown Los Angeles. Be Active with this series of low or no cost do-it-yourself programs.
The Music Center is located at 135 N. Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles. Parking is available in the Music Center garage for $9 (evenings and weekends). No professional photography, videotaping and/or recordings of any kind. Information is subject to change. Program support provided by The James Irvine Foundation.
