Do you feel that plastic blister packaging is wasteful and not eco friendly?

Why is it that so many companies continue to use this type of packaging?

Some reasons that companies that use this type of packaging:

1. To allow consumers to see the product through a clear plastic

2. Companies want to protect their product from prying consumers, those wanting to open the package and take a look.
