Pasadena Could Run Out of Water – Please Conserve #pasadena #water #crisis

Pasadena city officials released a statement that says that residents are not doing nearly enough to save water one day into a 10-day shortage.

Water consumption after 24 hours of the Level 4 shortage—the highest level possible—was 13 percent above the target.

There will not be enough water to get through the emergency that lasts through March 27 if consumption continues at the current levels.

Pasadena declared the shortage earlier this month because of a seismic retrofit at the F.E. Weymouth Treatment Plant in La Verne, which provides Pasadena 60 percent of its water.

The city has banned outdoor watering and the refilling of pools spas and fountains, and requires residents to fix leaks quickly during the shortage.
