National Night Out

Tonight is National Night Out.
Based on some of the crimes taking place it is probably a good thing that the local police departments are sponsoring the event.

Here’s a sampling of some of the events for tonight.
5 p.m. PASADENA – Pasadena Police Department, Pasadena Human Services and Recreation Department and others will host a National Night Out event, with children’s activities, dancing, martial arts, resources for health insurance and neighborhood organizing and more. 5 p.m. VARIOUS – National Night Out, a national campaign involving cities which pledge to fight crime, drugs and violence and promote public safety, will be celebrated in several Southern California cities, including: a 5 p.m. celebration at the Pomona Civic Center Plaza, 505 S. Garey Ave; a 5 p.m. event at Poinsettia Park Recreation Center, 7341 Willoughby Ave.; a 5:30 p.m. event hosted by the Huntington Park Police Department at Robert H. Keller Memorial Park, 6550 Miles Ave.; and 6 p.m. events in Inglewood, scheduled in the downtown Market Street area. 5:30 p.m. BURBANK – A National Night Out event will be held at Chandler Bikeway and Keystone Street. Activities will include information booths, exhibits and free food. Contact: Peter Eirich, Burbank Police Department, (818) 238-3235.
