MIT Personas: How the Web Sees You

Persona screenshotWe have all been seeing the internet but never realized how the internet sees us. Well now the MIT guys at the Media lab have developed a way to see how the internet sees us with MIT Personas. This cool tool displays an individual’s profile upon entering his or her name.

The method is simply the use of data mining algorithms which mine existing personal profile and other information scattered around the internet and brings it together to make one composite profile associated with one name.

The concept behind this tool is to show the internet’s ability to mix up data as lot of different information is associated with similar names. Our dependence on the internet for securing information and extracting data is still not in its mature stage to be considered 100% accurate.Persona screenshot
