If you recently have been by Meat District Co. in Old Pasadena and noticed it was closed, it was closed on Oct 6, 2015 due to a Pasadena Health Department inspection and cockroach infestation violation, with a score of 47 of 100, the business was forced to close. To see which food establishments have been closed in the past 60 days you can view them on the city website.

We believe Meat District will be opened again soon.

This raises questions of the cleanliness of food establishments in Pasadena and how thorough of a job the non LA County Pasadena Inspection department is doing.  It appears that the department is making more visits and being more thorough.   This is good, but in doing so we hope the department is working with restaurant owners to make the process simple to follow and work with restaurant owners to comply with Pasadena ordinances.
