In Transition 1.0
A convergence of ideas seems to be swirling around us. Individuals and groups in our area are working toward more positive, local solutions to food and resource issues. Some communities have gone further…

Please join us on Saturday Sept 18th 6:00pm for a screening of
In Transition 1.0 at the Pasadena Armory (145 North Raymond Avenue, Pasadena)

In Transition 1.0 is the first detailed film about the Transition movement filmed by those who know it best, those who are making it happen on the ground. The Transition movement is about communities around the world responding to peak oil and climate change with creativity, imagination and humour, and setting about rebuilding their local economies and communities. It is positive, solutions-focused, viral and fun.

Dan Wang of Transition South Bay LA (https://transitionsouthbayla.blogspot.com/) will be on hand to speak after the movie.

Representatives from other local groups will also be there. Look for their tables to get more information about what they do.

Organized by the Arroyo Time Bank (https://www.arroyotimebank.org/) and the Arroyo Food Cooperative, with much help from the Armory, there is no charge for this event.

Read more about resilient communities in the current (Fall) issue of Yes! magazine. A couple of interesting articles are available online (https://www.yesmagazine.org/issues/a-resilient-community) but the entire issue is worth tracking down – at least one copy was found at Borders on South Lake.

Want more? TransitionLA acts as the region’s hub for Transition information (https://transitionlacityhub.blogspot.com/). They’re hosting a mini-conference on Sept 25 “LIFE AFTER OIL” (https://transitionla.org/events/LAO_info.htm)

The Transition movement is about resilience
beyond sustainability.
It is communities around the world responding to
peak oil and climate change with creativity,
imagination and humor, and rebuilding their local
economies and communities.
