It appears that HP has figured out a way to keep non-HP toner from working in HP printers.

Call it toner gate or something else, but basically HP has monopolized the use of toner cartridges in their printers to be exclusively HP.

If you look on sites that sell non-hp toner, most of the newer toners that require a chip do not work.

Looking on sites like Staples you see in the reviews that the compatible toners do not work.
