We are gearing up for this weekend’s Open House and are looking forward to sharing a beautiful day with you on our family ranch.  This year, thanks to the help of our ranch event coordinator, Katie Falbo, our Open House will offer even more opportunities for you to experience the ranch, enjoy amazing ranch-to-table food, and learn how you can take an active role in our local food movement.  We hope you can make it!
Did you register?
If you have not already, please Register Now.  Your donation of $15/adult and $8/child will support the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund and the Santa Ynez Chapter of the Weston A Price Foundation.  Both organizations are committed to protecting consumers’ food choices and the hard work of small farmers.
What to bring:
  • A blanket or chair to sit on, sun protection, and closed toe shoes
  • Cash for the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund Raffle, DeyDey’s purchases [10% OFF on all grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, pork and eggs!], and extra treats from the vendors.
  • Ice chest for purchases that need to be kept cold.
What you’ll eat:
Grass-fed burgers with all the fixin’s, ranch-made potato chips, honey-sweetened lemonade, kombucha, almond milk sorbet, and other GAPS/Paleo-friendly treats.
Who you’ll meet:
This year’s vendors include the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund, Santa Ynez Chapter of the Weston A Price Foundation, Culture Club 101, RealFood Devotee, Sugar and Salt Creamery, and Fat Uncle Farms.
What you’ll learn:
In addition to a variety of classes [see below for full schedule], you will have the opportunity to meet our baby chicks, learn how to milk a cow and tour the ranch operations.
How you can play:
A bounce house will be provided for the kids to burn off some steam and there will be plenty of grass to run, jump and play in.
What you can win:
  • Our vendors are donating an array of exciting prizes that will be raffled off throughout the day.
  • Tickets are $1/each, $5/6 or $10/15.
  • ALL proceeds to benefit the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund.
  • If you have a product or service that you would like to donate to the raffle, please drop off at the FTCLDF booth.
And don’t forget!:
For safety reasons, no pets may come to the ranch property.

The following classes will be on our Main Stage:
  • At 11:30 – “Why bother eating healthy?  Examples of customers who have transformed their lives through eating” presented by Victoria Bloch
  • At 12:30 – “Backyard Chickens – Everyone should have them” by Barbara Bullock
  • At 1:30 – “What to look for when selecting your farmers – Beyond Organic” with Katie Falbo
  • At 2:30 – “What is GAPS and why should I care?” – with Nicole Fox Nutritionist and GAPS Practitioner
The following classes will be on our Practical Stage:
  • At 11:30 – “Easy to make and a cornerstone of Probiotics – Sauerkraut the Whys and Hows” with Adriana de Bruin and Katie Falbo
  • At 12:30 -“Making Broth, a cornerstone of  a healthy gut and the GAPS diet, Made Simple” with Elaina Luther from Culture Club 101and Monica Ford the Real Food Devotee
  • At 1:30 – “Delectable Healthy Sweets” with Elaina Luther fromCulture Club 101
  • At 2:30 – “Making the best moisturizing cream ever from tallow” with Monica Ford the Real Food Devotee
