The following are the steps to restore the computer to factory settings. Please make sure you have backed up your data. After restoring the computer, the data will be lost and it cannot be recovered. Dell will not be responsible for data backup or data restore.
1. Start the computer.
2. Tap the <F8> key on the keyboard during the startup process until you see the Windows Advanced Options menu on the screen.
3. Press the <Down Arrow> key to select Repair Your Computer and press the <Enter> key.
The System Recovery Options window appears.
4. Select your language and click Next.
5. Log in as administrator or a user with administrative rights and click OK.
6. Click “Dell DataSafe Restore & Emergency Backup”
7. Choose Restore without preserving new or changed file Click Next to continue.
8. Choose the option “Yes, Continue. ” and hit “next” after that
The factory software image is now written to your hard drive.
9. Click Restart to initiate restoration process
The computer is restarted and restored to the defaults factory settings.
