Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe my family has been producing shows for over 50 years at Del Mar and good news, here comes another!
That’s right; it’s almost that time again! and first of all, I want to start by telling you that we have NEW SHOW HOURS. Show hours are now 11 am to 7 pm on Friday & Saturday; 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday. .
The Del Mar Antique Show & Sale will be back at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on January 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 2010. This time we will also have the pleasure of having the show in conjunction with the Friends of the Planet Market, so you get 2 shows for the price of 1! In fact, for those of you who are animal lovers, the fairgrounds are also hosting the San Diego Cat Fanciers Club the same weekend. I figure if you have to pay for parking make it worth it!
The Friends of the Planet Market (www.greenmeetsgreenexpo.com) will feature 32,000 square feet filled with exhibitors offering current technology and products that are earth friendly. The Del Mar Antique Show (WWW.DELMARANTIQUESHOW.COM) will feature an additional 65,000 square feet of the finest dealers specializing in antiques, vintage collectibles, and decorator items. Furniture, jewelry, glass, porcelain, vintage clothing and much more. Everything from Tin to Tiffany!
If you are wondering how we came up with the name Green Meets Green Expo, here is the explanation:
The Old Green: The Del Mar Antiques Show – Over 150 antique exhibitors will fill the O’Brien Exhibition Hall with everything from the finest quality furniture, clothing, and home decorative accessories that don’t hurt the earth. They’ve all been recycled and some from over 300 years ago! The Del Mar Antiques Show will offer conscious consumers the opportunity to see antiques in a whole new planet-friendly light.
The New Green: 21st Century Friends of the Planet Market – Th! e Bing Crosby Exhibition Hall will be filled with exhibitors featuring new-age environmentally conscious products and technology. From building products to baby clothes, from high-style fashions to transportation alternatives, from solar energy to green cuisine, The Friends of the Planet Expo will offer the latest developments and products in this cutting edge technology.
And so this is how finally, green will meet green. Taking care of this planet is so important to everyone world-wide and of all ages.
Of course, the appraisal people will be back for all 3 days of the show and their rate is still only $5 per item.
Also, our great repair & restoration people will be there to help you make your damaged treasures as good as new. They are able to repair all types of glass & crystal, pottery & porcelain, furniture, jewelry, art and much more.

San Diego Gas & Electric will be on hand at the Green Meets Green Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, January 22, 23, 24, 2010. All attendees to the event should bring a copy of their current SDG&E bill or their California ID to receive their FREE no-cost Home Energy & Water Saving Kit. The kit includes a low-flow showerhead and three faucet aerators. SDG&E will also be on hand to provide energy efficiency tips as well as update them on their smart meter installation efforts throughout the county. San Diego Gas & Electric will be located in the Bing Crosby Exhibition Hall in the 21st Century Friends of the Planet Market,! booth #s 111 & 112.
PLUS the first 500 attendees to the event each day will receive a certificate for a free spa and wellness service from Mind Body Partnerships.
