Cigarettes Tossed from Cars Start Brush Fires

Cigarettes Tossed from Cars Start Brush Fires
In this time of drought conditions are prime for brush fires, just today we have two fires burning in the Southern California area.
One in Camarillo off the 101 and one in the city of Banning.

I have seen may remains of fires which have burned near freeways that are almost sure caused by careless smokers tossing cigarettes out of their car window.

I have seen many drivers recently tossing or flicking their lit cigarettes out their moving vehicle windows. Just looking on the side of the road you can see countless cigarette butts on the ground.

The fine for tossing anything out of a car should be stiff, the find for tossing a lit cigarette out of a car should be very very stiff. Fires can be deadly and cost millions of dollars in damages. Fire fighters have their hands full by accidental fires.
