Where you affected by the mass Charter internet outage today? Well from what we have gathered the outage affected most of the Southern California area.
Charter has to be one of the worse internet service providers when it comes to handling customer calls and service issues.
When I first noticed the problem at our office, which has a Charter Business account(not that it makes any difference) Charter treats all customers equally bad. Charter is struggling with running their operations and being in bankruptcy is not helping.
Here’s some of what I learned from chatter on Twiitter(of all places), there was nothing on the Charter site, no status message.
1. You could call the toll free number for Charter and get nowhere, the call would be disconnected. Apparently the call volume was too much, or maybe the supposed fiber cut also affected their phone services.
2. The customer service people Charter has hired from the Phillipines are rude and you cannot understand a word they say.
3. Twitter: 150,000 customers affected by the outage March 8, 2009.
4. read some of the twitter postings:
topshelftotes @victorcab I’m near you in Pasadena. Still down. Called charter around noon, said it could bebupto 48 hrs. Hope it is not that long!
Message to Charter, get your act together, stop sending my junk mail to signup for your services, I’ve been a customer twice and you pissed me off both times.
I would never have Charter for home service. I would highly recommend you evaluate your options before select Charter for internet.
