California Cash for Appliances Program starts today with a new rebate program for appliances.
California’s “Cash for Appliances” program, which gives rebates for buyers of energy-efficient appliances, begins Thursday.

$50 for a room air conditioner, $100 for a clothes washing machine, and $200 for a refrigerator on top of any manufacturer rebates.
program requires consumers to supply a copy of their receipt, proof you recycled your old appliance, copy of the energy guide label, and a recent utility bill.
Claim forms with documentation must be mailed within 30 days of purchase. And even then, it’s first come, first served.
You may have to hurry though, in places like Florida, the rebate checks were gone in a day and a half.
