The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury), with our partners at HOPE NOW, HUD, and NeighborWorks America, is bringing two “Help for Homeowners” Community Events to California in March. These events, one in Sacramento and one in Los Angeles, offer the chance for homeowners having difficulty paying their mortgages to meet with servicers and housing counselors to get help. Realizing that staying in the home is not always an option, we’ve added a very important opportunity – a Workshop on Short Sales – for real estate professionals and housing counselors to learn more about short sales as a foreclosure prevention strategy. If you work with homeowners on short sales, you can’t afford to miss these events.
