BioBrew – Keck Graduate Institute’s Corporate Education group

KGI Corporate Education to Host BioBrew

Keck Graduate Institute’s Corporate Education group will host BioBrew, a networking event for life science companies, on Saturday, January 23, 2010, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the school’s Claremont campus.

“The purpose of BioBrew is to build awareness in the Southern California corporate community about KGI’s corporate education capabilities and offerings,” says Diane Lim, Corporate Education program manager. “We selected the BioBrew idea because corporate education is like a tonic for professional skills. It nurtures the kinds of competencies that life science professionals need in order to perform more effectively and to advance their careers.”

KGI Corporate Education is aimed at enhancing the skills and decision-making abilities of life science professionals through a variety of classes in relevant science, regulatory, and business topics.

BioBrew will launch Corporate Education’s 2010 program. Offerings during the Spring semester will include KGI’s Life Sciences Briefing Series; Business Development Series; Regulatory and Management Series; and the Next Generation Bioscience Leaders Program, which is presented in collaboration with Smith College.

Activities on Jan. 23 will include beer-brewing demonstrations hosted by KGI’s Amgen Bioprocessing Center, campus tours, previews of upcoming programs, networking opportunities, entertainment, and refreshments. The event is organized specifically for professionals working in pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, agricultural bio, diagnostics, health care and other companies.

“If you have never been to KGI, this is a wonderful opportunity to see the campus and what we have to offer the corporate community,” says Lim.

Tickets are $25 if purchased in advance; $35 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Amgen Bioprocessing Center. For more information, visit the BioBrew Webpage. To register, contact Debra Sloyer at dsloyer@kgi.edu or 909- 607-0154.
