Battery Warranty Investigation/Replacement
Our Ford Taurus battery died, we purchased a new battery in 2007. The battery is an AutoLite 84, means it is an 84 month battery, so we are less than half through the warranty period, the battery says it has MFG SEPT 07 date stamp on it.
On the battery it says it is a CSK Auto battery, but to call Exide Technologies for warranty info at 800.START-IT. I called once and the phone rang and rang. Then I called again, and someone answered, the woman was polite telling me that I need the receipt, because I bought it from somewhere that went out of business, the Ford dealership, but after looking at the battery again, it says CSK Auto, which I believe is part of Kragan. So I will try Kragan which has a store located in Pasadena.
I just got off the phone with Travis at the Pasadena store and he was helpful.
Said if I don’t have the receipt it is hard to help me, but offered to help me this one time, as the battery had the CSK Auto label.
Anyway, the woman with AutoLite hotline, gave me this number 800.423.9433, which there is no answer, then again it is 6:30am in Los Angeles.
In hindsight, I don’t think I would buy another Exide battery, after reading the reviews. Will try to buy one at Costco, as they have great customer service. Hopefully they still sell batteries.
I’ll try Kragan/CSK Auto in Pasadena and see what happens.
