An update from one of the cherry ranches in Leona Valley.

Hi Cherry Pickers,

Great news!  The cherries are ripe and the trees are loaded!  WE ARE NOW OPEN FOR PICKING.  We will be open every day until all of the cherries are picked.  Because we didn’t have any late freezes this year, the cherries are ripening earlier than usual.  Of course the Brooks are huge and extremely sweet.  We already have some of our Rainier trees that are perfectly ripe and also extremely large.  I took some pictures which I will be posting on the web site www.upickcherries.com soon.  They look beautiful and taste even better.  This could be a short season if the weather gets hot, so don’t delay coming.

We will be open weekdays from 8am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 3pm.  Remember to wear close toed comfortable shoes.  The temperature was perfect for picking today–warm but not too hot.

We would love for you to visit the orchard any day but remember, weekdays are great because they are less crowded.  Since we do have about 3600 trees on 25 acres, there is always plenty of room for you any time you come!

As always, we have lots of raw, local honey at the cherry stand.  We are happy to accept all credit cards as well as cash.  If you are not sure about our days and hours, call our Cherry Hotline for information at 661 270-1356.

This is going to be a great season and we hope to see all of you at the orchard.  We are especially excited about seeing those of you who have come to visit us year after year.  Let the excitement begin!  See you at the Farm.
