Public Nominations for Twestival Global 2010 are now closed.

A final decision will be posted on 15 December 2009.

New Date for Twestival Global 2010 :

Thursday 25 March 2010

On this single day, people in hundreds of cities around the world will come together to rally around an important cause.  100% of people organizing events are volunteers.  News about how to officially register your city and apply for roles on the global team will be posted on Twestival.com on December 3rd 15th.

The date for Global Twestival 2010 has been pushed back slightly to ensure there is time to implement the exciting new partnerships and projects planned.

Twestival Global 2010 Theme :

Education,
with a focus on children in some of the poorest places in the world.

*There are currently 3 5 fantastic non-profits shortlisted to be recipient of Global Twestival 2010.  In an effort to ensure we have reviewed all viable organizations before making a final decision, nominations will be were opened up starting November 1st and ending November 15th 2009, 23:59 PST.

The final decision will be announced on December 3rd has been extended to ensure full due diligence and allow time to accurately assess input from international organizers.  Local organizers will receive an email on December 5th with instructions on how they can get involved in the week long process closing December 11th.  A final decision will now be posted on Tuesday 15 December 2009.  Thank you for your patience as we consider all of the options for Twestival Global to ensure its full impact is felt next year.  It has been inspiring to read about the fantastic nonprofits that are doing great work around the world to support education.

The selection will be made with input from a team of advisors and previous Twestival city organizers.

Important Criteria:

Education for children in the developing world is a very broad cause to cover and there is a specific vision in mind for fundraising – however, if your non-profit fits the criteria, we’d love to be made aware of it through a nomination.  Twestival is in a position to highlight innovative and interesting solutions even if you aren’t the final recipient.

  • Must be an organization working globally to improve schools in 3 different regions of the developing world.
  • The non-profit must be on Twitter, dipped their toes into social media, but not necessarily an expert.
  • The non-profit agrees to give 100% of the proceeds direct to projects and work with local organizations on the ground.  Twestival values transparency as a way to connect donors closer to the cause.
