“STAR TREK BEYOND” is fun and fierce – Beyond its’ Predecessors!

“STAR TREK BEYOND” beams down on July 22nd, 2016 in the United States. The Sci-Fi film’s trailer was premiered at the recent Comic-Con event and at the IMAX marathon screenings that received a huge applaud as the audience eagerly waited to watch the film set on the release date. The film had its’ Australian premiere at Sydney on July 7, 2016 and was released in 2D, Real 3D and IMAX 3D while it was also released in the Dolby Cinema format in selected theaters.

Whether you’re a child, a teenager or an adult, STAR TREK BEYOND will make you forget your age! As the story begins, you enter into a fabled “Five year mission” of the good ship ENTERPRISE, with Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and his crew feeling kicked in by the endless monotony of the unending void of deep space. The audience is seen to be hooked by the story-line throughout the film.

The Cast

The film has a number of cast among which John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba play the main characters. Michael Giacchino contributed for the Music in the film; while Stephen F. Windon is the Cinematographer. The film is distributed by Paramount Pictures while it has multiple production companies having their stake for producing the Sci-Fi film. The film is directed by Justin Lin from a screenplay by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, based on the series Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry. The movie was filmed in Vancouver where its’ principal photography began on June 25, 2015 whereas, the other locations in the movie is filmed at South Korea, Seoul and Dubai, UAE.

Of all the TREK predecessors, the BEYOND excels by using its Sci-Fi framework that doesn’t give a feel of an artificial film at any given point as the film brims practically right from the opening moment through to the end. The budget of the film was $185 million. This speaks for the effort and contribution of the entire cast and crew in making the film go leap and bounds beyond its’ TREK antecedents giving it a new recognition. “Star Trek Beyond” nabbed an estimated $59.6 million debut in North America, topping industry expectations and winning the weekend box office in its first weekend release.

Director Justin Lin tells Empire STAR TREK BEYOND doesn’t have any deleted scenes that otherwise could’ve been added to the film as separate extras or as a Director’s cut. Whatever you see in the movie is pretty much what the cast and crew has shot during the film. He further explained:

We were very surgical. It was a really tight schedule. The challenge became our friend at the end of the day. There were a couple of moments with Spock and Bones that I ended up taking out, but it’s very slight. Everything you see in the film is pretty much what we shot.

Reception & the Critics Review

CNN Money mentioned, “The Paramount Pictures film received positive reviews from both critics and audiences who gave it an 85% score on review site Rotten Tomatoes and an A- CinemaScore.” The film has been applauded for its innovative use of Sci-Fi framework and here’s what the Critics say:

Star Trek’ is one of Paramount’s crown jewels and a brand that has been under their wing for decades,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at comScore (SCOR). “This weekend’s solid performance was vitally important to the brand and Paramount’s movie division since so much is riding on this and future installments to bring dollars and cachet to the studio.
