Springs Fire Ventura County Update

Updated: May 4, 7am PST:
30,000 Acres, 30% contained
15 homes damaged
Mandatory evacuations ordered
1900 firefighters on the scene
PCH has been reopened, but could be closed again.
Air quality is horrible in many parts of Southern California. AQMD warns even if you cannot see the smoke.
Rain is being forecasted for Sunday, which should help with any fires.

Camarillo Springs fire is now active in Deer Creek area.

Over 10,000 acres heading toward Pt Mugu,  10% contained.

The fire came very close to homes in Newbury Park. Residents under mandatory evacuations.

PCH closed at county line

About 1,000 firefighters have been called to fight the Springs Fire which started at the 101 fwy near Camarillo Springs Road.

Many locations the fire jumped across PCH.
