History

Established in 2010

Aaron Sims is the owner/operator of Southwest Adventures. After years of pushing paper in a job he once loved, he made a choice to drastically change his life to follow the dreams he had stopped chasing.

Through many years of traveling, exploring and adventuring he came to work for an “adventure travel” company. Finding that experience somewhat lacking, he decided to start his own business, and that’s how Southwest Adventures was born.

When the company first started the goals were simple: show people the beautiful places in the southwest, feed them fantastic food everyday, and make it possible for them to share the experience and connect with like-minded people. Those sound like pretty good goals to us, and that’s why we haven’t changed them since day 1.

After a lifetime of camping, much education (both formal and not), too many years working in an office, and many years traveling the world and working as a guide/organizer, Aaron decided to strike out on his own and founded Southwest Adventures. He lives in Los Angeles with 2 cats and many more friends., loves bicycling, couchsurfing and Belgian beer.
