Slow Food June 2010 Dinner/Event 561 Restaurant – Culture Club

Join your local community and get together with some like minded individuals for a little local farm fresh food, Slow Food education and open discussion. Stay for a 3-course dinner.

We will have a sample tasting of Goose Valley Organic Wild Rice as well as Farmers Market produce.

Special guest speaker Elaina from Culture Club 101 will be speaking with us about ancient fermentation, cultures, old fashioned soda, cheeses and more!

6:30-7pm- Mingle/Meet new friends
7-7:30pm- Literature on Goose Valley and any other special guests
7:30-8pm- Open topic and question/answer, we invite you to bring any ideas you may have on how we can make Slow Food more successful in our community and truly make a difference!

8:00PM Dinner:
Guests may stay after the discussion for a special three course Tasting Menu for only $15.00 plus tax and service charge. Beverages are additional. Please make your reservations through www.opentable.com and type “Slow Food” in the Special Requests for the Maitre D’ box, or call 626-229-1377 to make your reservation and mention “Slow Food”.

STARTER:
Amy’s Farm Fresh Greens, Duck Confit, Popped Goose Valley Wild Rice and Dried Cherries

ENTREE:
Pork Belly, Sauerkraut and Parsnip Puree
OR
Chicken Tajine, Couscous and Grilled Apricots

We can also cater to vegetarian.

DESSERT:
Blueberry Ginger Ice Cream Soda

Type Slow Food in the box… we still have a few reservations open!

*****We have an added veggie option to our menu (let is know when you arrive) as well as an additional speaker. Elaina from Culture 101 will be speaking with us about ancient fermentation, old fashioned sodas, cultures, cheese making and more! She also has a running co-op where she sells amazing products and teaches wonderful do it yourself classes as well! We hope to see you there…
