San Diego Area Weekend March

Saturday around 11am or so we decided to drive down to Mission Valley in the suburb of San Diego after booking a night through Priceline when a friend from Hawaii was coming into town. Unfortunately that friend did not bring their spouse and had to leave early Saturday. Nevertheless we tried to make the best of the prepaid nonrefundable Priceline deal.

The trip down the Mission Valley was quick, less than 2.5 hours.

After arriving to our hotel and checking in.

We decided to take a drive into La Jolla, we had been there a few years ago, but had not had time to visit the La Jolla branch of the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, what a wonderful location, overlooking the coast and the views are amazing. After walking through the exhibits and store, we took a walk along the coast/cliff and witnessed seals and inclement weather along the shoreline.

We then wanted to grab a bite to eat, which we did at PrepKitchen, located a little inland.

In San Diego visiting spent night in mission valley went to cardamom in north park, very good and it was busy. Joanne the owner was very pleasant. We bought a loaf of squaw bread. And a sticky bun. for breakfast. Then to hillcrest area farmers market where it was raining. We bought some red walnuts from modesto. Nicollina and her husband run a citrus farm. Rain is expected all day. We are thinking of doing the science museum. To check the alien show more later. We went to the san Diego air and space museum in balboa park. Then we went to solana beach to the farmers market there. Great farmers markets in San Diego area. We also noticed lots of CSAs boxes farms that support and offer a box. We saw lots of interesting things at the solana beach farmers market including dogs a 235lb English mastiff huge dog named Thor. After the market we went solana beach fish house. Tacos pretty good fish n chips ok not that great.
