After an extensive national search, Piaggio Group Americas (PGA), a subsidiary of Italian manufacturer Piaggio Group, has chosen Pasadena as the location for their first U.S. advanced design studio.

Piaggio Advanced Design Center Corp. found Old Pasadena to be an ideal location for their new office.  They were especially attracted by the design talent in the area and close proximity to the internationally renowned Design Center, as well as the esthetics and vibrancy of the city.

Piaggio is the Italian aircraft manufacturer that introduced Vespa scooters in 1946. The Piaggio Group has a global presence and is the leading European manufacturer of two-wheeled motor vehicles, which aside from the well -know Vespa brand , includes Aprilia and Moto Guzzi   In December, 2012, PGA introduced four new prototypes with the West Coast in mind; Motor Guzzi California 1400, Vespa 946, Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Aprilia SRV 850.

Leon Saroff, of Sauvé Riegel Commercial Real Estate, helped Piaggio lease the entire second floor, approximately 3,000 square feet, of a unique, historic Old Pasadena building. The new design center will be located at 35 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California.  Norm Sauvé, also of Sauvé Riegel Commercial Real Estate, represented the landlord.
