About the Downtown Glendale Market
The Downtown Glendale Association took over management of the former Farmers Market in 2013 and opened under a new name with a new location in 2014. The market has been renamed “The Downtown Glendale Market” and is now located in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church in the 200 block of North Maryland (just behind the Alex Theatre.)
Along with the new location and name, the market has a new manager who has brought in new vendors. Eventually, we hope to have as many as 75 vendors. For now, we are pleased that the Downtown Glendale Market has vendors with organic produce, raw dairy products, fresh fish and prepared foods, such as fresh baked goods and bagels. Other vendors sell delicious specialty items such as genuine New Orleans-style pralines, and boutique foods such as spicy tomato jelly and candied jalapenos. The market has interesting clothing and accessory vendors with one-of-a-kind items.
There is plenty of space in the new market to wander and chat with our vendors about their products and their stories. The DGA has set up picnic tables for your enjoyment.
The Downtown Glendale Market is open every Thursday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
