I love Mickey’s Momma’s Gourmet BBQ Sauces. In particular the teriyaki & peppercorn flavor.

The product is sold at various festivals around the Los Angeles, Ventura area.  Including the weekly farmer’s market in downtown Los Angeles every Sunday.

I had a chance to spend a few minutes speaking with Mickey, the creator with the help of his momma who created the original recipe.  One thing we discussed is how the use of lemon in the ingredients is a great preservative.  There are a few products I have seen that use lemon and the product will last many times longer than if lemon is not used.

Back to the sauce, the teriyaki & peppercorn is well balanced, tangy, and the amount of pepper is just right, not too overpowering like pepper can be.
