LA Street Food Festival Rose Bowl Pasadena Update @LAfoodfest

We have received some updates for those of you lucky enough to have purchased your tickets to the 4th Annual LA Street Food Festival at the Pasadena Rose Bowl taking place tomorrow late afternoon and evening.

We wanted to share this updated info for those of you concerned with the predicted temperatures that are expected to be 94 degrees.

“We all know that tomorrow is going to be a scorcher and in preparation, we’ve expanded our tented areas, added additional shading in the stadium seating, created additional water stations, will have ice cold non-alcoholic beverages (in addition to ice cold beer and cocktails), hand fans for every guest and of course, our ice cream social! ”

A Message from LA Street Food Fest:

Once you’ve parked look for our entrance at Gate A.
If you plan on drinking, don’t forget to visit the ID Check table before you get in line to enter the table! More details about that below.
And remember, parking is included with your all inclusive ticket!

Use Your UBER Ride Credit!
Enjoy your UBER ride to and from the LA Street Food Fest! LA Street Food Fest & UBER are teaming up to give you a complimentary ride up to $20. Enter your designated code into the promotions tab in your app OR sign up by visiting:www.uber.com/go/LAFoodFest. Emails will be tracked by the team. GA ticket holders can use the code LAFoodFest.

Beat the Heat!
We’ve got: Extra tented areas in and outisde the Bowl, a double delivery of ice, plenty of umbrellas and natural shade, water stations, icy drinks, an ice cream social and hand fans.
Don’t forget: Hats, sunscreen, and an extra water bottle if you think you may need it. Sensitive to heat? Note the Water Stations and the First Aid Station on the map, just in case!

Tickets
Your tickets can be printed out and handed to an attendee when you check in. The easiest and fastest way to get through the entry line is with a printed ticket, however, if you absolutely can’t print or just really, really want to save a tree, have your barcode up on your smartphone and we’ll get you in. (Tip: download the Eventbrite app). Tickets are transferrable, so if you bought tickets for family or friends, don’t worry about them getting in with a ticket with your name on it. It’s all about the unique barcodes, even if you have multiple tickets with the same name in your order.

The Weather
The SoCal summer is upon us and the forecast is for mostly sunny skies with a high of 94 degrees and a light breeze. We plan our event to run late afternoon into evening because the Rose Bowl is situated in the arroyo amongst many mature trees and because the event area is mostly on the east side of the stadium, as the sun sets in the west, a shadow is cast by Bowl and most of the event area is naturally shaded by 4pm. Even on a hot day, the event area will be warm but very comfortable.

What To (and not to!) Wear
The event spans a large area and comfy clothes and shoes are a must. For those of you who want to enjoy the grassy field of the Rose Bowl stadium for wine and tequila tasting, or just plain loungin’, we suggest wearing flats. High heels are very destructive to the grass and just plain no fun to walk in down there. Stretchy pants highly recommended.

What To (and not to!) Bring
Even though there’s plenty of natural shade, come prepared with hats and plenty of sunscreen for the first couple of hours of the event; especially those of you joining us early for VIP. Speaking of the grass: picnic blankets and cushions are welcome, but please, no chairs, umbrellas or anything else that may damage the field. There will be plenty of shaded and umbrella covered tables throughout the event area, not to mention 99,000 stadium seats! Outside food and beverage including outside containers, coolers and picnic baskets will not be permitted so please leave them at home.

Water
We’ll have plenty of bottled water at the event sponsored by Scion. The Scion water station is located just inside the main entrance. There are also plenty of water fountains throughout the event and you’re welcome to bring your own refillable water bottles if you’d like to use them.

Adult Beverages? Get Your 21+ Stamps!
Planning to drink? Don’t forget your ID! Everyone drinking must show that they are 21+ to receive a 21+ stamp and enjoy our bars. The Roaming Hunger ID Check is located just outside of the main entrance. For the best possible time, we suggest you stop by the ID Check table BEFORE you get in line to enter the event. Please note that no one can have more than two alcoholic beverages at any time and last call at all bars and beer gardens is 8:30p, thirty minutes prior to the event’s close. This is a Pasadena PD and Rose Bowl regulation that we must adhere to and respect. Plan accordingly. Drink responsibly.

Judging & People’s Choice Awards
Don’t forget to join our celebrity judges and vote for our People’s Choice Award! Ballots will be available to all attendees at our entrance, Info Table and at vendor’s booths and tables. Ballots can be dropped off at the Info Table until 8p! Awards will be announced on the Main Stage between 8:15 and 8:30p.

Photo Booth + InstaPartyBox
Don’t miss the photo booth near the event entrance and if you want to print out your own Instagram pics at the InstaPartyBox, be sure to tag your photos with the hashtag #LAfoodfest

Plan Ahead…
A visit to the LA Street Food Fest is a lot like going to Disneyland. You probably only do it once a year and you want to plan ahead to get the most of your day. Download our Event Map/Guide to your smart phone in advance so you can get familiar with the lay of the land and know exactly where to go and to be sure you don’t miss anything. Printed event Map/Guides will also be available at the event, but we find there’s nothing quite like having your own on your phone! Some handy tips and tricks we like to share:

Plan Ahead: Get to know the event and plot your stops. Download the Map/Guide ahead of time.
Create a Home Base: Stake out a table, grassy spot or corner in the stadium stands to use as your home base throughout the day.
Divide & Conquer: Have your friends split up — for example, one getting drinks while another gets bites — and meet up at your home base to share.
Don’t Fill Up Too Fast: Many of our vendor’s tasting portions are nearly a meal in themselves. Get one, share with your friends, and save room for the rest!
Favorites First: Plan to visit your favorites and must-try’s first before you fill up and pass out in the grass!

Smoking
There is no smoking permitted anywhere in the event area. Electronic cigarettes are ok.
