ATTENTION COMMUTERS, RESIDENTS, AND BUSINESSES IN THE VICINITY OF THE SAN DIEGO FREEWAY (I-405) BETWEEN THE SANTA MONICA FREEWAY (I-10) AND THE VENTURA FREEWAY (US 101)
The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project will add a 10-mile northbound carpool lane on the San Diego Freeway (I-405) from the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) to the Ventura Freeway (US 101), and will realign select ramps, improve bridge structures, and erect sound walls. Anticipated project completion is Spring 2013.
In preparation for this work, the Contractor will initiate the installation of construction area signs for the 10-miles stretch.
What: Installation of construction area signs
When: Work is anticipated to start Monday, December 7, 2009 for approximately one week, weather permitting. Hours of work activity on the Caltrans right of way will be from 10:00pm to 5:00am. Hours of work activity on City streets will be from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Where: San Diego Freeway (I-405) between the Santa Monica Freeway I-10) to the Ventura Freeway (US 101) and Sepulveda Blvd.
What to expect:
- Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
- Pedestrians will be rerouted to a safe area outside the construction zone.
- Intermittent moving lane closures will be implemented on the Caltrans right-of-way; access will be maintained at all times.
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS IN THE VICINITY OF SEPULVEDA BLVD. AND OVADA
As part of the pre-construction activities for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project, the Contractor will perform geophysical survey of underground utilities and pothole at the intersection of Sepulveda Blvd. and Ovada. This activity requires street lane closures and the detour of traffic to facilitate the safe use of boring equipment.
What: Street lane closures and potholing
When: Work is anticipated to start on Thursday, December 3, 2009 for approximately 2 weeks. Work activity hours are from 9:00pm to 6:00am.
Where: Sepulveda Blvd. and Ovada intersection
Closure 1: Northbound Sepulveda from Sunset to Moraga and south east corner of Sepulveda and Ovada intersection.

Detour: Northbound Sepulveda traffic to eastbound Ovada will be detoured to Moraga Dr. to Acanto St. to eastbound Ovada.

Detour: Southbound Sepulveda traffic to eastbound Ovada will be detoured to westbound Church Ln. to Montana to northbound Sepulveda to Moraga Dr. to Acanto St. to eastbound Ovada.

Detour: Eastbound Church Ln. traffic will be detoured to northbound Sepulveda to Moraga Dr. to Acanto St. to eastbound Ovada.
Closure 2: Southbound Sepulveda at Ovada/Church Ln. intersection and northwest corner of Sepulveda at Ovada/Church Ln. intersection.

Detour: Southbound Sepulveda traffic to westbound Church Ln. will be detoured southbound on Sepulveda to eastbound Sepulveda Way to westbound Sunset to northbound Church Ln.

Detour: Westbound Ovada traffic will be detoured to southbound Sepulveda to eastbound Sepulveda way to westbound Sunset to northbound Church Ln.

Detour: Northbound Sepulveda traffic to westbound Church Ln. will continue on northbound Sepulveda to be detoured to Moraga to Acanto, to Ovada to southbound Sepulveda to Sepulveda Way to Sunset to Church Ln.
Closure 3: Closure of lane #1 for northbound and southbound Sepulveda at the Ovada intersection.

Left turns will be restricted for all directions of traffic.
•
One lane of traffic will be maintained for all directions of traffic.

Detour: Northbound Sepulveda traffic to westbound Church Ln. will be detour to continue northbound on Sepulveda, to eastbound Moraga, to Acanto to Church Ln.

Detour: Southbound Sepulveda traffic to eastbound Ovada will be detour to continue on southbound Sepulveda to Sepulveda Way, to Sunset to Church Ln.
•
Detour: Westbound Ovada traffic to southbound Sepulveda will be detoured to continue on Church Ln. to eastbound Montana to southbound Sepulveda.

Detour: Eastbound Church Ln. traffic to northbound Sepulveda will be detoured to continue through Ovada to Acanto to eastbound Moraga to northbound Sepulveda.
What to expect:

Traffic will be reconfigured with one lane in each direction where allowable.
•
Local access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
•
Pedestrians will be rerouted to a safe area outside the construction zone.
•
Access to all on and off freeway ramps will be maintained.
•
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
