Honda Adds 273,000 Vehicles to Long-Running Air Bag Recall

Models now included:
Honda said the latest recall would apply to 2001-2 Accords, the 2001-3 Civic and Odyssey, 2002-3 CR-V, 2003 Pilot, 2002-3 Acura 3.2 TL and 2003 Acura 3.2 CL.

Chris Martin, a Honda spokesman, wrote in an e-mail Friday that the automaker was aware of 18 injuries and two deaths linked to the condition. One of those killed was a high-school student, Ashley Parham, who died in 2009 when her Accord crashed in the high-school parking lot in Midwest City, Okla., according to a report by KOCO-TV.

In early 2010, Honda recalled another 378,000 vehicles. These included more 2001-2 Accords and Civics, as well as 2002 Odyssey and CR-V models, the 2002 Pilot, some 2002–3 Acura 3.2 TLs and some 2003 Acura 3.2 CLs.

And in May of this year, Honda announced its fourth action, which added another 833,000 vehicles to the tally, including more 2001-2 Accords and Civics, the 2002 Odyssey, the 2002-3 CR-V, some 2002-3 Acura 3.2 TLs and the 2003 Acura 3.2 CL.

The recall includes the Accord, 2001 and 2002 model years; Civic, 2001 to 2003; Odyssey, 2001 to 2003; CR-V, 2002 to 2003; Acura 3.2 TL, 2002 and 2003; along with the 2003 Pilot and 2003 Acura 3.2 CL. Some, but not all, of those model years are covered.
