Honda Accord ABS – Anti Lock Break System – Severe Vibration Heating Warped Rotors

For many years now, actually shortly after I purchased my Honda Accord, when I would brake going down a  steep hill and apply the brakes the whole car would vibrate excessively. To the point you could hear and feel it like the car was about to fall apart.

I asked the dealer about this and they told me it was the anti-lock, and I was puzzled. Called Honda and was told the same thing.

Not sure if they are blowing smoke or if they really believed what they where saying. But the problem continues now at over 120k miles. After several brake jobs and turned rotors the problem continues.

Today I decided to research this issue and found this link.

Apparently I am not the only one having this issue. The reports vary from the wrong rotors being installed to defective rotors on these cars. Will there ever be a recall on this issue? Nobody is sure, but one thing for sure is that more and more auto companies are being forced to issue recalls for a variety of different problems. Most of them posing severe hazard issues.

Do you have a Honda Accord with this sort of brake issue?

Some possible solutions include:

1. New ceramic pads and rotors

2. EBC Rotors and hawk pads

Parts are approximately $450 at Tire Rack

I like honda but come on the warping problem is real and telling people the drive to hard on them is a cope out.
