Colonoscopy Can You Be Allergic To Pre Procedure Solution Gavilyte G

My mom went in for colonoscopy Friday afternoon, the powder prescribed to be diluted solution she had to take prior to the colonoscopy triggered an allergic reaction that required a call to 911 to for immediate attention where she was taken to the emergency room and proper care was administered to bring down the affects.

Kaiser is medical group my parents belong to, and for the most part does a good job. But Kaiser Permanente which has almost 9 million plan members, falls short in “personalize” health care.

Mom has allergies with sulfur, sulfa, but the pharmacy and pharmacists, and doctors told her that the sulfates in the blend are different, that there shouldn’t be a problem.

Could this prescribed solution have caused a more severe reaction? If she would have taken the whole 4 liter bottle there’s a good chance it could have been worse.
