Chase Bank Email Notification Issues

Apparently Chase online systems experienced an issue with email notifications. I tried to contact the social media team and they apparently had no knowledge of the issue.

Then this morning I received this message:

Dear Victor,

My name is Cesar Camacho in the Chase E-mail Service
Center. I have received your e-mail and would like to
thank you for contacting us with your questions. I will be
happy to assist you.

On the evening of October 3, 2012, our online alert system
experienced technical difficulties for a few hours
resulting in the multiple alerts that you received. We
understand the concern that the multiple alerts may have
caused you and want to assure you that multiple payments
were not received. We are happy to report that our systems
are back on track and fully functional. We apologize for
the concern and frustration caused by the multiple online
alerts you received.

I hope to have been of assistance with your inquiry.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or
concerns. We’re committed to delivering the high-level of
service that you expect and deserve.

This is very disturbing and makes me very concerned about the integrity of your systems and banking security and why know email to address this issue?
Perhaps a transaction id should be included in the email notifications, so that if it is the same id then people would know that perhaps it is a duplicate.
