FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Mar 31, 2009 – Pasadena, CA (April 1, 2009) –Brix 42 Gastropub has rapidly become one of Old Town Pasadena’s well-known restaurants and hot-spots. Coupling a classic American tradition of good food and beer with an exciting lounge and nightly entertainment, residents of Pasadena have flocked to Brix for the past two weeks to taste the food and to stay for the fun.

Owner George Ghaby wanted to create a gathering place where people could enjoy good food and good times. “My favorite show was Cheers,” Ghaby says. “I wanted Brix to have that same feel. I wanted it to be place where people could have fun.”

And fun they’ve had. Ghaby, successful restaurateur, has put a twist on traditional bar games and has taken out the tired standards of the past by replacing them with modern day entertainment. Each night the bar features a different theme after 9 pm. Sundays are industry night, anyone in the service industry can come in and receive 30% off. Come in on a Monday night for the Madden football challenge played on the PS3. If you are a fan of happy hour, then Tuesday night is your night because happy hour specials will be served all night long. Wednesdays are Wii night. Bar goers will no longer challenge each other to a game of darts but will instead participate in the Wii challenge. Winners will receive a complimentary gift from Brix. Thirsty Thursdays will give our locals a chance to sample our bar and home brewed beers with rotating drink specials and $2 house brews. Friday and Saturdays Brix becomes a nightclub after 10pm. Come in and dance to your favorite classic, old-school, hip hop, and new music spun by the house DJ.

Brix 42 has created a new concept in dining by creating a warm and inviting pub atmosphere that serves sophisticated, yet unpretentious food. As a “getting to know you” special, Brix is offering a free appetizer or dessert (up to a $10 value) with the purchase of two entrees between 5 – 10pm served in the dining area. The restaurant offers signature dishes like slow and low cooked pot roast with garlic mashed potatoes, beer battered fish and house cut fries, and chorizo basted pork tenderloin served with sautéed broccoli. The chefs use the freshest seasonal ingredients with local California ingredients that can be found at the farmer’s market.

Housing its own brewery, Brix uses fresh, all natural ingredients with no preservatives. Fine German Malts are combined with American Hops, brewed in a steam kettle for better flavor than direct flame. Beers stay in tanks for a maximum time of 2-3 months for optimum freshness. Brix’s Honey Wheat has 50pbs of honey added for a distinctive taste. Brix’s brew master has over 15 years of experience working at brewing manufacturers, micro-breweries, and brew-pubs.

The restaurant, bar and lounge are open seven days a week. Hours are nightly: Restaurant: 5:00 – 10:00 pm, happy hour: 4:00 – 7:00, and pub/lounge: 4:00 – midnight Sunday – Thursdays and until 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

In its simplest form, a Gastropub is a place with a warm, inviting pub atmosphere that serves sophisticated, yet unpretentious food. Extensive and creative beer and wine lists are an integral part of the concept. The menu at Brix includes signature dishes like slow and low cooked pot roast with garlic mashed potatoes, beer battered fish and house cut fries, and chorizo basted pork tenderloin served with sautéed broccoli.

Legend has it that the pub was once a corral where travelers and residents would water their horses and take a break, gathering with locals from the community for a beer and a song. George Ghaby, owner and successful restaurateur, has created a modern day version of the old corral, with classic American food and home-brewed beer. Brix 42 was created to be a neighborhood-gathering place where people can relax, unwind, and enjoy themselves while eating good food and drinking good beer.
