Yes, there is a new zipline in Big Bear, a short drive from the Los Angeles and Orange Country areas. I had a chance to chat with some of the folks from the company who are very excited to talk about the attraction.

1. What is ziplining? Ziplining is a thrilling outdoor activity during which a rider wears a harness which is securely connected, via carabiner and pulley, to a cable suspended high above the ground. The rider then glides along the cable for a uniquely exhilarating experience.
2. What does an Action Zipline Tour include? Your zipline tour includes 9 zipline runs of various lengths, along with Pinzgauer (a 4-wheeled safari jeep type vehicle) rides to and from our scenic launch deck on the mountain, a hike, a walk across a beautiful suspension bridge, historical information about the area from our expert tour guides, plus all the equipment and safety information you’ll need to have a safe and exciting adventure.
3. How long is a zipline tour? Your tour will last approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours. You should arrive at our Big Bear Boulevard office and departure point promptly at your designated tour time to watch an instructional safety video and to sign appropriate liability waivers. Van departs at exactly 1/2 past the hour and will not wait for late arrivals.
4. How many zipline runs will we do? Your zipline tour will take you on 9 different ziplines of lengths ranging from 120 ft.-820 ft.
5. How fast will we go? Riders may reach speeds of up to 30-40 mph while ziplining.
6. Is it scary? Ziplining is intended to be exciting and produce an adrenaline rush, but safety is our top priority. Our cables can support up to 60,000 lbs. and our ziplines are outfitted with special Prusik braking systems so riders can experience the excitement while still feeling secure.
7. Do I need to book a reservation? Prior reservations are definitely recommended, however, walk-ins are accepted according to availability.
8. Do tours book up fast? One tour can accommodate up to 16 people, but they do book up quickly. Book yours now!
9. How much does a zipline tour cost? The all-inclusive tour costs $95 per person.
10. Do you have any specials or discounts for large groups? Yes! Please contact us for more information at reservations@actionziplinetours.com.
11. What are the age and weight requirements? For safety reasons, riders must be at least 10 years of age and must weigh 90 lbs. Riders must also be able to fit securely into a harness with a 50” circumference around the belly button area. The absolute maximum circumference around the top of the thigh is 28″.
12. Are there any health requirements or stipulations? Riders must be in adequate health to complete a uphill hike. Riders should not be pregnant, be free from back, foot, heart or respiratory problems.
13. What do we need to bring? Riders should dress appropriately for outdoor activity in the mountains. Riders must wear closed-toed shoes, preferably tennis shoes or boots. Long hair must be tied back at all times. Riders should also bring appropriate outerwear, and a sense of adventure!
14. What will the weather be like? Action Zipline Tours is open year-round, so you may zipline in rain, shine, or snow. Tours will run in all weather except lightning and heavy snowfall. In the event that your tour is postponed due to extreme weather, you may reschedule or receive a tour voucher, no refunds will be given.
15. Can I watch a tour but not participate? Unfortunately, due to the nature of our tours, we cannot allow spectators onto the mountain.

Zip Line Canopy tours mix adventure with excitement giving a unique perspective of the natural environment.  Our canopy tour consists of 5 exhilarating zip Lines and an aerial platform over 90 feet in the air.  You will be accompanied by highly trained guides who will facilitate your tour while bringing your attention to the hidden beauty of the surrounding Big Bear environment.

Tours are available to all ages as long as the participant meets the appropriate weight requirement. Cedar Lake Camp Zip Lines offers the following 2 tours:“Black Bear” which consists of 3 zip lines and takes approximately 1 ½ – 2 hours.  This breath taking tour crosses a canyon and travels up to an aerial platform over 90 feet in the air.“The Grizzly” which consists of 5 zip lines and takes approximately 2 ½ – 3 hours.

This tour not only crosses the canyons, visits the aerial platform but also includes two additional incredible vista zips.Both tours have a wonderful view of Big Bear Lake and it’s surrounding beauty. We not only meet but exceeds all national standards that have been set for the Zip Line and Ropes Course Industry.Each participant is required to sign a waiver and must first participate in our zip line orientation.

Any participant that is pregnant, has heart troubles or any other serious medical conditions, should consider that this type of adventure may not be the best choice for them.  We recommend that they consult with your medical provider before joining a tour.
