AT&T Fiber – Internet Outage in Burbank, CA July 16, 2015

Update 10am July 17, 2015 – Appears most if not all services have been restored. Crews are still on scene at Victory Place and Empire at the Empire Center monitoring and testing services. Apparently 911 services had experienced outages with the cut.

Update: 7pm, several work crews spotted at Empire and San Fernando, working and staging with large equipment trucks and satellite trucks apparently working on this outage. Note that LBI, Liberman Broadcasting is located at the corner of Empire and San Fernando, near the Empire shopping center.

In case you are wondering at approx 10:30am on July 16, 2015 a major cable cut occurred in the city of Burbank, CA.

Details are unclear but the area affected is near the Burbank Airport to the 5 Freeway.

There are reports that the outage was caused by construction at the 5 Freeway expansion.

There are several businesses/companies in the general area reporting outages.

If you’re in Burbank & have no internet, it’s because someone at cut the fiber just north of the 5. Up to 12 hours to repair.

Update on our Burbank office: AT&T says issue affecting 1000s of customers in Burbank Area. There is still no estimated time of resolution.

Basic analog phone service, T1, Fiber, U-Verse all appear to be affected. The estimated time to repair is being estimated to 4pm, Friday July 7, 2015.

 

We hope it is repaired sooner, but that is what we have been told.
