AT&T Customer Service and Service Issues

I’ve been dealing with AT&T this morning after experiencing months of issues with dropped calls and no service.

Right now I am talking.

to a Filippe in the Las Cruses NM call center – Badge ID FR023H
He is a floor supervisor

He has been been breathing heavily into the phone, tells me that he is an overweight fat guy. Really…

The rep is reactivating, reprovisioning, over the air activation. and re-registering. Says that is all they can do.

This is a letter to the following executives at AT&T. The coverage map that at&T has on their website is totally misrepresenting what customer service reps see and can share with customers.

I had Filipe look at my address on his map and show that I have moderate coverage “at best” I go to the website
https://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/#?type=voice&lat=34.156900862871765&lon=-118.12030373637974&sci=11
and I show “best” coverage, I click on the 3G and it is solid blue, which means I should have excellent coverage.

What is about these customer service reps that they like to argue or dispute there own company posting?

I am now being transfered, last manager.

Contacts for AT&T customer service and operations:

Kathy Dowling
Senior Vice President – Customer Service
AT&T Operations, Inc.

John T. Stankey
President and Chief Executive Officer
AT&T Operations, Inc.

New tower being built in my area
Asbury and Hill Ave It will not be built completed until October 2010.

There’s an app you can report to AT&T about issues with dropped calls and no service.
Problem is what if you have no service, how does it report the dropped call? AT&T Mark The Spot downloadable from the App Store.

Update:  6-24-2010, I called the 800-331-0500 and transfered to the AT&T Apple Support line and was transfered to a rep who apparently had no idea what was going on, so I asked to speak to a manager.

Dan -with Apple has been very helpful, tells me that there is a tower that is out in my area. Doesn’t really explain what is going on for the last 4 months.

Now we are hearing that the new design on the antenna for the iPhone 4 is prone to having issues, i.e. if you hold your had over the steel band it could disrupt calls, etc..
