So you bought an AT&T MicroCell from someone and now you need to use it?
FTC007: The MicroCell serial number is currently associated to another AT&T customer. Please check the serial number and try again. If device was recently acquired from another AT&T customer, please contact them and ask to disconnect the MicroCell. For disconnect instructions, access the following link: https://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB109372. If you are still unable to activate your MicroCell after disconnecting it, please call 1-800-331-0500.
Here’s a quick follow-up on how AT&T handled the call for a MicroCell that was already associated with an account. I purchased the MicroCell from someone on eBay, they had apparently not deactivated it. Probably because it doesn’t cost anything to have it activated.
I sat on the phone for about 30 minutes while a rep took the serial number of the MicroCell and told be it could take three days to clear and reset the MicroCell… really 3 days to clear and associate the MicroCell with my account.
That there is no direct department that addresses these issues, that it was going to be escalated.
Three days seems like a very long time to resolve something like this.
What added insult to the situation, was that the rep actually told me that I should have excellent coverage at my home location. I explained to them that the coverage map online is NOT ACCURATE. That there is another map that is used internally that supposedly is more “accurate”
Yet again, AT&T proves how difficult it is do work with.
And on top of things, we are learning of another rate increase, most likely to make up the lost revenue to lost customers.
AT&T when will you learn that this is not the way to treat your customers?
Otherwise this video would be how easy it would be to setup.
