Accident Orange Grove and Sierra Madre Pasadena

This afternoon there was another accident at the intersection of Sierra Madre and Orange Grove in Pasadena.

It appears that two vehicles colided heading east and west bound while another vehicle traveling south on Sierra Madre colided into a light post.

We just saw the scene with all cars airbags deployed.

The intersection is closed off between Altadena and Sierra Madre.

There are at least 10 officers/volunteers on the scene, marking and taking pictures. No details on when this happened yet. It must have been very recent.

We can only hope everyone survived with only minor injuries, but it appears the accident was intense and violent.

We know that cars travel way too fast on the stretch of Orange Grove from East Pasadena to West Pasadena.

At Hill and Orange Grove I see cars flying by on a regular basis, some even honking their horns as they enter the intersection as the light is turning red.

This is a plea to all that speeding is a recipe for bad things. If you want to speed and kill yourself, take it out to the desert and go at it on an open stretch of land. Or go to the speedways that offer the facility to those that want to race.

Today on July 5, we need to sit back and reflect on being responsible and grateful for what we have in this country, not take if for granted by drinking and driving or speeding down the streets or highways.

I called the Pasadena Police Dept and all they could tell me is that it is an ongoing investigation and that the cause is not known. The closure is still in place.

More details to follow.

If you live in Pasadena and in particular on Orange Grove and wish to file a complaint, this is the FORM to do so.

If enough people file complaints then maybe the city will start to look a this seriously.
