Stories Will Be Told
Hi, this is Carl Weintraub, proprietor of Firefly Bistro and founder of We Tell Stories, writing to you once again. Many of you come in to ask how We Tell Stories is doing so here’s my answer.
After 28 years of creating great art in education, this year, we reached out to the community for help. And, the community responded. You responded.
Your donations got us through the end of our fiscal year. Because of you, we were able to secure a $21,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to continue the work that was curtailed by the Los Angeles Unified School District meltdown.
So, you are now our partners in this grant. We need to raise matching funds to be awarded this money. Once again, we turn to you. We are asking that you pledge $10, $12, $14, or $16 a month for the next 12 months. That’s an annual pledge of between $120 and $200 that will ensure that this program of performances, student workshops, and staff development will continue to benefit the schools and the students
of Southern California.
We are no longer just a bunch of artists wanting to do good work for kids. We are part of a community of people who want good work to be done. Together, we can do it!
