Imagine a Sunday where fashion-hounds can check out period costumes, history buffs can a Spanish American War encampment and kids can be “locked” in a real jail cell. All this and more awaits visitors at the 23rd annual Museums of the Arroyo (MOTA) Day.

Taking place on May 20, 2012, MOTA Day features five museums located along the celebrated Arroyo Seco in Los Angeles and Pasadena that open their doors for a free day of music, storytelling, art, crafts and entertainment.

MOTA Museums include: The Gamble House, Heritage Square Museum, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home and the Pasadena Museum of History.

MOTA Day takes place from noon to 5 p.m. with last entry at 4 p.m.

MOTA welcomes again Yelp, the online review website, as an official sponsor of MOTA Day!
