2015 LA County Fair

The 2015 LA County Fair celebrates the best of Southern California—and many other parts of the world. Luminasia lights up the fair with Asian-inspired, whimsical lanterns that are handcrafted from China. The Flower & Garden Pavilion highlights the beauty of Mardi Gras and exhibits of the flora and fauna of Louisiana and the Bayou. The Beneath the Sea exhibit brings fairgoers face to fin with sharks, stingrays, and sea lions. Capuchin monkey Mojo rules over the Wild and Crazy Lagoon and its other creatures. Drawn from closer to home, hundreds of Californian crops surround a barn where visitors can milk a goat or, this year, learn about long-ago farm work, such as forging horseshoes.

As night falls, the doors of Grinding Gears creak open, revealing a steampunk-themed music experience where bands and DJs mix pop and industrial sounds. Back outside, couples might catch a bit of romance when the ferris wheel sweeps them up toward the stars for a luminous view of the San Gabriel Mountains at sunset. More thrilling rides, such as a roller coaster, spin visitors into the air, and the tamer double-decker carousel lets guests catch their breath. These rides and others run late into the night.

Windows 10 Released July 29, 2015 Download Updates Retail USB Purchase

Windows 10 Released July 29, 2015 Download Updates USB Purchase

Updates will be automatic, apparently you will not be able to opt out of updates.

Windows 10 will be the “last” operating system released by Microsoft, all updates will be done to Windows 10. That should be very interesting, because even Apple tries to keep using the version 10, but will eventually move to 11, or at least that is the thought. Does this mean that Microsoft as finally caught up with Apple? Windows 10 and OS X 10.11 El Capitan.

Even the iOS for iPhones has been incremented on a regular schedule.

Faster? Word is that Microsoft’s new Edge browser is 112% faster than Google Chrome, this is fast!

Amazon now has a pre-order for Windows 10 Home and Pro. Shipping is expected August 30, 2015.   Other versions are available, but if you want to take advantage of the free upgrade and you own Windows 7 or 8 you can get more info on this Amazon page.

With the free upgrade from Microsoft, if you own Windows 8.1 Pro your upgrade will be to the comparable Windows 10 Pro.

Buyer / upgrader beware, if you do take advantage of the “free” upgrade after the one year is over it will cost you $119 to continue to run Windows 10, or $199 to upgrade to Professional.

More to follow.

AT&T Fiber – Internet Outage in Burbank, CA July 16, 2015

Update 10am July 17, 2015 – Appears most if not all services have been restored. Crews are still on scene at Victory Place and Empire at the Empire Center monitoring and testing services. Apparently 911 services had experienced outages with the cut.

Update: 7pm, several work crews spotted at Empire and San Fernando, working and staging with large equipment trucks and satellite trucks apparently working on this outage. Note that LBI, Liberman Broadcasting is located at the corner of Empire and San Fernando, near the Empire shopping center.

In case you are wondering at approx 10:30am on July 16, 2015 a major cable cut occurred in the city of Burbank, CA.

Details are unclear but the area affected is near the Burbank Airport to the 5 Freeway.

There are reports that the outage was caused by construction at the 5 Freeway expansion.

There are several businesses/companies in the general area reporting outages.

If you’re in Burbank & have no internet, it’s because someone at cut the fiber just north of the 5. Up to 12 hours to repair.

Update on our Burbank office: AT&T says issue affecting 1000s of customers in Burbank Area. There is still no estimated time of resolution.

Basic analog phone service, T1, Fiber, U-Verse all appear to be affected. The estimated time to repair is being estimated to 4pm, Friday July 7, 2015.

We hope it is repaired sooner, but that is what we have been told.

If you have more details please share.
