Pasadena Fire Department and Huntington Hostpital to Host Hands Free CPR

PASADENA FIRE DEPARTMENT AND HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL TO HOST HANDS FREE CPR TRAINING IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL CPR WEEK
(Pasadena, CA) –On Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Pasadena Fire Department and Huntington Memorial Hospital personnel will teach the community how to save a life with CPR. This service is free to the public and will be held in the courtyard at Paseo Colorado, 280 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91101.
CPR instructors will be on hand to demonstrate the basics and proper techniques of Hands-Only CPR. Participants will have the opportunity to practice on mannequins. The training will not result in CPR certification, but information on how you can get certified will be available.
Cardiac arrests are more common than you think, and they can happen to anyone at any time. Nearly 300,000 out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests occur annually and only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander. Failure to act in a cardiac emergency can lead to unnecessary deaths. In fact, less than eight percent of people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive. On the other hand, effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival.
Anyone can learn CPR – and the American Heart Association believes that everyone should. Sadly, 70 percent of Americans may feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because they either do not know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed. This alarming statistic could hit close to home, because home is exactly where 80 percent of cardiac arrests occur. Put very simply: The life you save with CPR is mostly likely to be someone you love.
By using Hands-Only CPR, bystanders can still act to improve the odds of survival, whether they are trained in conventional CPR or not.

American Idol Ending – Last Season in 2016
One more season for American Idol, after 15 seasons.
Ratings have suffered but the show still garners a respectable market share. What Fox and producers and owners of the show are betting on is that the final season will allow a opportunity for past winners, judges, contestants, fans to all remember and pay tribute to one of the leaders in the space.
Allowing amateur and experienced musicians a platform to compete and be recognized and become famous and in many cases successful.
Ryan Seacrest has been with the show since day one, hosting the show.
The current judges will return for the final season.
Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.
The LA Times has a story about the show’s history.
Note: 4.2.2 has been released to address
IMPORTANT: WordPress 0-Day Vulnerability
This is an urgent security notification concerning those who have sites built on the WordPress platform.
A critical cross-site-scripting (XSS) vulnerability of the WordPress core engine has been announced recently. The vulnerability affects all WordPress versions including the most recent major release (4.2) and has reportedly been fixed in minor security release 4.2.1.
The 0-Day vulnerability allows hackers to gain access to core site functions (such as changing passwords, adding administrator users and altering content) and, alternatively, to execute code remotely after a piece of malicious JavaScript code is injected via the comments section. Basically, the hacker is able to post and execute the malicious piece after his first, “harmless” comment is approved by an unsuspecting site administrator.
That being said, we strongly recommend updating your WordPress scripts to the most recent version (4.2.1) as soon as possible. This version is already available for automatic update via Softaculous Auto Installer, which is present by default on all our shared and reseller hosting servers and can be accessed through your cPanel account.
When performing the update, we recommend you follow WordPress script update instructions in the Official WordPress Codex at https://codex.wordpress.org/
In addition, we would like to remind you about general security rules, which should be followed regularly: https://www.namecheap.com/
