This week, several varieties of drought-tolerant trees, shrubs and flowering groundcover were planted throughout the Foothill Gold Line Operations Campus and around the exterior. These are some of the finishing touches underway as we complete construction of this $265 million facility. Don’t forget, we will be dedicating the Campus on Saturday, May 23rd, starting at 9:30 AM. About the Foothill Gold Line Operations Campus

The 24-acre Foothill Gold Line Operations Campus took nearly four years to design and build. At full capacity, it will house up to 84 light rail vehicles and nearly 200 employees and operate 24/7. The facility is one of the only of its kind to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standards, one of the highest levels of recognition available due to its energy and water conservation measures. An artistic theme has been incorporated throughout the facility, created by Southern California artist Christie Beniston, who was inspired by the California Poppy:

“The first Spanish explorers sailing the coast of California in the eighteenth century called the region ‘a land of fire,’ noting the deep orange-colored hillsides. It was only after the ships landed that it became clear that poppies were the source of the golden color, giving California its state flower and motto -The Golden State.”

626 Night Market Announces 2015 Season @626NightMarket

626 Night Market Announces 2015 Season

ARCADIA, CA (Feb 23, 2015) — 626 Night Market, the original and largest Asian themed night market in the United States, returns for its 4th season this year to produce two events in Costa Mesa and three events in Arcadia. Event dates and information are as follows:

OC Night Market will commence the 2015 season at OC Fair and Event Center on the weekends of May 8–10 and June 5–7. Event hours are 4pm–12am on Fridays & Saturdays and 4pm–10pm on Sundays.

Admission is $5 and parking is $7. Children 6 and under are free.

626 Night Market will follow with three flagship night market events at the historic Santa Anita Park in Arcadia on July 3–5, August 7–9, September 4–6. Event hours are 4pm–1am on Fridays and Saturdays and 4pm–11pm on Sundays. Admission is only $3 with free parking. Children 6 and under are free.

Each night market event will feature over 200 food, retail, crafts, arts, games, music, and entertainment attractions. Since its inception, 626 Night Market has been a platform for showcasing local food entrepreneurs, businesses, artists, musicians, dancers, and filmmakers. Due to overwhelming popularity, each event is now three days, increasing selling hours, vendor sales, and visitor access.

626 Night Market’s slogan for 2015 is Welcome to your night market. “626 Night Market events have always been about the community, whether it’s bringing more awareness to local businesses and organizations or rising creative talent in the arts and music,” says Alexander Siu, 626 Night Market’s marketing manager, “Attendees are encouraged to take part on any scale they’d like, from participating in contests to performing onstage to showcasing the newest food creation. Make your mark on the night market.” 626 Night Market will be continuing its series of special projects at each month’s event to be announced as the dates near; last year’s art battles, dance competition, fashion show, cosplay contest, and headlining performances from local YouTube superstars were huge draws among the attendees.

626 Night Market is now accepting vendor and performance artists applications. Low vendor rates start at just over $98 per day. Top vendors gross up to tens of thousands per event. Last year’s attendance averaged over 55,000–60,000 attendees per event.

Rolling Stones at Fonda Hollywood Tickets #stickystones @periscopeco @rollingstones

The big buzz on May 20, 2015 is that the Rolling Stones are playing at the famous Fonda Theater in Hollywood for a very special show. Tickets sold for $5 and are now selling online for various prices up to $1000 or more.

AEG is the promoter for the show. Selling tickets via AXS.

The last time the Rolling Stones played a little L.A. club, it was the 700-capacity Echoplex in Echo Park. Now they’ve moved up to the bright lights of Hollywood — keep an eye on these guys; it looks like they’re going places.

On Wednesday, the band confirmed what many L.A. fans and outlets had long suspected about its upcoming tour schedule. It will, indeed, play a previously unannounced show somewhere in Hollywood tonight.

Reps for the band declined to comment on the exact location, but it is widely believed to be the Fonda Theatre, where it would replace a set from the Americana act Shakey Graves that was moved to the Belasco at the last minute due to “logistics at the Fonda Theatre.”

The announcement, which came via the band’s Twitter account today, comes on the heels of a live Q&A they conducted on Twitter earlier this week. The group will broadcast behind-the-scenes footage on the company’s live-streaming Periscope service.

Here’s video from the show:
Last night, the Rolling Stones played a special surprise show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, with a one-time only set featuring the original Sticky Fingers album in its entirety with additional Stones hits.

The intimate performance was a celebration of the June 9th re-issue of the Sticky Fingers album, one of the most revered albums in the band’s storied catalog, the 1971 classic features timeless tracks such as ‘Brown Sugar,’ ‘Wild Horses,’ ‘Bitch,’ ‘Sister Morphine’ and ‘Dead Flowers’. The Stones will kick off their 15-city North American ZIP CODE Tour at Petco Park in San Diego on Sunday, May 24.

SET LIST
