There was a party in Los Angeles this past Friday and Saturday… A very large party , a rave party to be specific. The Rave Party attracted approx 185, 000 kids to the Los Angeles Coliseum and surrounding areas with dozens of injuries and arrests.

Saturday June 26th, 2010 at 2:00am PST Wow!! EDC 2010 is off to an astounding start! We hope you enjoyed Fridays festivities as much as we did! Thanks to everyone for helping to create such an unbelievable night of excitement! Now it’s time for us to press the reset button and get ready to do it all again Saturday. Can this possibly be any more fun . . . .?!!
IT’S ON!!
Friday June 25th, 2010 at 1:00pm PST EDC2010 is under way! All systems are go! The sound is booming, lights are beaming, circus freaks are roaming, and the energy of the crowd is bringing everything to life! Can you feel it?!!!
Be ready for traffic
Thursday June 24th, 2010 at 1:00pm PST With the fun comes a need for preparation. With the volume of people expected for EDC this year comes the inevitable traffic jam around the festival grounds. Also remember Friday’s festival will be going on during the usual lovely Los Angeles rush hour. Please be prepared for all of this and make sure to plan extra time (even a couple of hours) to get your car parked for the Electric Daisy Carnival. It’s always better to be earlier than you expected than late! Please consider different routes from earlier exits off of the freeway as well.
There are multiple parking lots in the area (please see the parking map), and some of the best are actually a little farther away. The lots associated with the USC campus are a good option. Parking a little farther away and walking may actually get you to the gates faster. We have the gates heavily staffed to get you in as fast as possible once you are there. Different lots are owned by different people – so keep in mind that parking prices can vary as well.
Please remember to car pool! And if you do get stuck in you car longer than you expected tune into SiriusXM’s Area to listen to the festival live or maybe even download Ultra’s new Electric Daisy Carnival CD mixed by Kaskade from iTunes to listen to on the way!
VIP entrance
Friday June 25th, 2010 at 5:00am PST For those of you who have purchased VIP tickets you must use the entrance located on Hoover & Martin Luther King. This is the only VIP entrance.
It’s almost time!!! Can you feel it?
Friday June 25th, 2010 at 5:00am PST Only mere hours until gates open to kick off the 2010 Electric Daisy Carnival! This weekend will be filled with all kinds of surprises and adventures. Check out all of the new stages and production, the art installations spread throughout the grounds, wandering freaks and clowns, carnival goodies, merchandise & of course, the world class line up of talent set to rock the sound systems all night long. Keep your eyes peeled because there are lots of hidden surprises set to be unveiled as the night develops!
I have seen a sigh of relief and joy among smokers with the introduction of Electronic cigarettes in the market. These are eco-friendly low pressure microelectronic vaporizing devices that work with the help of a battery and cartridges to give the smoker the original smoking experience. The reason for their amazing popularity among smokers is that it is legal to use them anywhere including public places. Devoid of smoke, tar and odour, these e-cigs have hit the news thanks to their green policy and the wonderful benefits of using them.
If you have been trying to quit smoke for a long time but in vain you can choose the exclusive ECigs with a variety of flavours from the Direct E Cigs. The exclusive features like stainless steel atomizer, ecig rechargeable battery, USB and wall charger, amazing flavours, make the Direct E cigs stand out among various competitors. These laboratory manufactured cigars contain pure high quality nicotine and are free from additives and harmful ingredients unlike the traditional tobacco cigarettes.
There are options to choose from the varieties of ECigs from Direct ECigs. For example the disposable one piece cartomizer equals 2 packs of traditional cigar. Indeed cost-effective and very convenient to use. The two cartomizers use the E-liquid which offers latest and unique smoking experience. The exclusive trial kit on Direct ECigs is worth a try and I just cannot wait to book one now!
Anyone else running into corruption with Excel 2010?
I had to right-click on the file in windows explorer and go to Properties for the file; On the first tab (“General”) at the bottom there was text that stated “This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer”, next to the text was an “Unblock” button. Selecting “Unblock” solved this issue.
This solved my problem with Excel reporting xls files as being corrupt.

Framed and unframed works, plus stained glass and glass sculptural work will be on sale for the duration of the exhibition, but for the best selection plan on attending the opening reception on Sunday, June 27, 5:30-8 pm!
Proceeds will benefit the Associates of Brand Library, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support Brand Library programs, collections, and facilities. Following the reception, the exhibition will be on view June 29-July 9, during the Library’s regular hours.
Robert Brown was born in San Francisco in 1917. He received his Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State College and Masters of Fine arts degrees from both the California College of Arts and Crafts and the University of Southern California. Brown was a Professor of Fine Art at Glendale Community College and taught there from 1948 to 1983. In his retirement year, GCC mounted a retrospective show of 55 of his serigraphs. From the late 1940s to the early 1980s Brown was a prolific and master printmaker, producing strong, thought-provoking and often humorous works that spanned many styles, from figurative and abstract to pop art. In addition to his graphic works, he created contemporary stained glass pieces. Brown’s 52 foot architectural glass panel commissioned by The First Methodist Church in Glendale is still on view. Throughout his long career he developed new means of expression. In addition to his iconic print and glass works his oeuvre includes photography, drawings, collage, woodcuts, and ceramics. His decorative works—wallpapers, murals, textiles—are in private and public collections throughout southern California. Mr. Brown was an active member of the Western Serigraph Institute and an Honorary Artist of the Pasadena Society of Artists. He also served as president of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society foundation. Mr. Brown died in October, 2009 in Glendale at the age of 92. His daughter Jan Reilly made a gift of his works to the Associates of Brand Library as Mr. Brown loved the library and had exhibited his work there many times. His pieces entitled “Suburbia” and “Opposite but Equal” received the Brand Associates Purchase Award and are part of the Associates’ permanent collection.

Who loves us?
During one of my usual browsing sessions on the internet, a press release titled “SpareFoot Raises $2 Million to Accelerate Growth” caught my eye and I was reminded of my friend who once told me about this online marketplace for self-storage units. This agora for storage units (around 150, 000 units) has storage listings suiting to all kinds of needs and with numerous storage facilities ranging from small compact units to large bedrooms and garages. The website claims to have the largest collection of online storage units at affordable prices.
The website at Sparefoot.com offers the best deals to customers with contacts of major brands of self-storage dealers of USA. The feature that interested me more about the website were the amazing filtered search options like search by state/ location, search by selecting the self-storage unit sizes, etc. You can also narrow the search by selecting the type of storage providers, the features and amenities you require. It is not only swift enough to find the suitable deal but also makes the search more convenient. After my visit to this online self-storage units’ caboodle, I realised, my search for any kind of self-storage unit ends here, may it be climate controlled units, RV/parking or portable secure units, The website is certified for complete online security and has earned special recognition through top newspapers like The business Week, NewYork Times, TechCrunch, LifeHacker etc.
The website invites those who are interested to rent their spare rooms for storage to other customers under secure and customized lease agreements. If you have decided to book storage online with Sparefoot,do not miss out the 50$ cash back offer.

Block Party
Since its inception in 1968, CONCERN Foundation, which is dedicated to raising and granting funds to support cancer research worldwide, has broken local ground in many ways: pioneering support of cancer research (specifically funding emerging scientists); using the force of a committed group of individuals, now four generations deep, to raise funds; encouraging restaurants and caterers to come together by donating and sharing center stage with the event donors and variety of annual themes to raise money; pioneering the “block party” fundraiser concept, which began on glamorous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and today has found a new long-term home on the ‘New York” set of the back lot of Paramount Studios in Hollywood. The event is attended each year by well over 3,500 “concerned” donors.
An honoree is chosen each year that embodies the true spirit that is Concern Foundation by helping the organization continue to raise funds and awareness. Honorees are fully committed to help Concern reach its goal to raise over $2 MILLION DOLLARS from the Block Party event, that will enable Concern to continue to fund the next generation of cancer researchers and help bring us that much closer to the vision of living in a world without cancer.
Various companies partner each year with Concern to help raise funds and awareness to help further the mission including Concern’s media partner Los Angeles magazine, who help the organization to raise awareness for their mission as well as helping to secure additional funds from their readers and advertisers.
The Block Party features four stages of live musical entertainment along with its traditional casino style gaming, an opportunity drawing and over 150 great silent auction packages and a live auction featuring trips and vacation packages with air fare provided by American Airlines, and several one-of-a-kind items and opportunities. In keeping with the theme there will be several areas of Interactive guest participation activities and décor surrounded by the cosmopolitan setting of the Paramount Studios back lot.
It would not be a Concern Block Party without the over 50 of LA’s most beloved restaurants and caterers that provide “a taste” of their specialties. Some who have had a long standing commitment to participate include; The Grill on the Alley, La Cachette Bistro, Lawry’s the Prime Rib, San Gennaro Café, Cookies for a Koz, Reagan’s Recipe, Bistro Garden, Chaya Brasserie & M Chya Cafe, Fogo de Chao, Factor’s Famous Deli/Delicacies Fine Catering, Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs, IL Cielo, Dominick’s and Little Dom’s, La Provence Patisserie, Mr. Cecil’s Ribs, Larsen’s Steakhouse, Samba Brazilian Steakhouse, Someone’s In the Kitchen, Savore Cuisine and Events, Casablanca,Dandy Don’s Ice Cream, NOLA ICE, Se La Vi Sweets, Bar Hayama, California Sushi Academy, Acadie Crepes, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Gill Jazz, & Maria’s Italian Kitchen, and many a host of new participants that lend their support for the cause. Ten fully stocked hosted bars, COKE Products, Ventura Limoncello Co., Reed’s Ginger Brew Products, Stockholm Krystal Vodka martini bar and plenty of coffee drinks from Pasquini Espresso Company and Weaver’s Coffee & Teas as just some of the hightlighs of this on-of-a-kind Los Angeles tradition.
