Meteorite explosions in the skies of Russia’s Urals region has sparked panic in three major cities. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working.

A plunging meteor streaked across the sky above Russia’s Ural Mountains today morning (February 15, 2013). The 2013 Russian meteor event occurred around 9:15 AM YEKT (03:15 GMT) on Friday Morning over South Ural, Russia. According to current news reports says, more than 500 people injured, no one was seriously injured. The Russian news agency RIA Novosti said officials detected a mid-air blast at an altitude of about 10,000 metres.
