There’s been some rumors floating around for some time now. It appears that those rumors are heating up.
Is it a good move for Google? Some would say yes and some would say no.
Is it good for Twitter? Many would say no. That it would change Twitter and it would not be the same, that users would look for the next thing.

With an acquisition of Twitter Google would make a huge splash into the real search market. Which is the next big thing. I find myself searching twitter in many cases and finding what I am looking for, basically by passing Google to get to sites and content I am searching for. I am sure Google sees this as well. The different methods to using API’s to use Twitter. There are also many tools to enhance the Twitter platform.
I use Twhirl and love it. Also many users use Twitberry and Twitoid.

Is Google willing to fork out the money possibly close to 1 Billion now? Will that increase multiple fold in the coming years?
With this sort of valuation has the craziness of the dot com started again?
