Today is the day when Apple releases the iOS 5 for iPhones and iPads, iPods, etc..

Apple – iOS 5 – 200+ new features for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch

iOS 5 and iCloud service, will be available starting October 12, 2011.

As most consumers are running some flavor of iOS 4.3.5, this iOS 5 is measuring up as one of the major upgrades from Apple and the best part is that it is compatible with 3GS phones and newer.
Those with the 3G will be left out of this upgrade.
