Altadena Urban Farmers Market @ Altadena Community Garden Picnic

Altadena Urban Farmers Market @ Altadena Community Garden Picnic

The next Altadena Urban Farmers Market will take place at Loma Alta Park in conjunction with the Altadena Community Garden Annual Picnic and Resource Fair. There is no fee to enter the park to shop, but for only $8 you will be able to enter the garden for an amazing bbq meal cooked by garden members and featuring produce grown at the garden!

AUFM vendors participating at this event include:

Sugarhouse Farms — Compost Tea Bags fo…r the garden
Goodfellow Soap Works — Handmade herbal soaps
Ardenwood Edibles — Organic, open-pollinated seedlings for edibles
Jaberwocky Smooth Jerk — Jamacian Jerk Sauce
Homebody Botanicals — herbal skin & hair care products
Pine Street Products — seedlings & seeds
Mothercluck — Jams & Preserves
Earl’s Gone Wild — BBQ Sauce
Cast Iron Gourmet — Small batch bacon & bacon snacks
Drake Family Farms Goat Dairy — Fresh goat cheese from Ontario
Arroyo Time Bank Bread Collective — Handmade artisan breads
Arroyo Time Bank Eco Chic –Non-toxic cleaning and beauty supplies

Also this month, the Arroyo Time Bank is organizing a free produce stand! You can bring home grown fruits and veggies to share, and take something from the table. If you have produce to contribute to the stand, either bring it on the day of the event, or contact arroyotimebank@gmail.com.

We will also be hosting our usual FREE MARKET table. Clean out your house and bring anything functional and easy to carry that you aren’t using — one of your neighbors might need it! Take anything you see that you can put to use. We’ve heard it said that 90% of our assets are idle 90% of the time. That’s an abundance of stuff just laying around that could be put to better use if shared. The table will also include our popular COOKBOOK SWAP.

Bring a bag to shop or buy one of our very limited organic cotton grocery bags with the Altadena Urban Farmers Market logo! There are only 80 of these bags remaining and we don’t plan to make more. The generously sized bags are selling for $20 as a fundraiser for the Arroyo Time Bank, to support our projects including the Altadena Urban Farmers Market, the Neighborhood Fruit Picking project, which delivers backyard produce to Union Station Food Bank, and the Neighborhood Resiliency Project, which consists of free Sunday reskilling workshops held at the Madison Casita in Pasadena. More information about these projects and others can be found at www.arroyotimebank.org.
