Sunday Morning Bluegrass Gospel in the Garden – August 21, 2016

Sunday Morning Bluegrass Gospel in the Garden!

The Pasadena Folk Music Society moves off the Caltech campus for the first time ever to present a special Sunday morning concert featuring the fine voices and guitar work of Eric Uglum and Bud Bierhaus, also known as the Vintage Martins. Eric and Bud impressed us greatly some years back when they performed at one of our shows as part of a fine bluegrass group, Copperline, known for wonderful harmonies. The group broke up shortly after that show and Eric and Bud have played music separately in other configurations since then. In the last year, they have been making a few appearances at festivals and now they have a brand new recording. Their harmonies and instrumental skills are better than ever- click here to hear them. Bud won the Texas State Flatpicking Guitar Championship in 2012 and he has performed with Herb Pedersen, Chris Hillman and others. Eric has performed and recorded with Alison Krauss, James King, Stuart Duncan, Ron Block, Rob Ickes and others, as well as raising a couple of sons who are making it in the music world in Nashville.
